Dining Experience

Moving away from the standard meals used by skilled nursing facilities for decades, City View Post Acute has shifted our focus to fresh, seasonal, and locally grown food.

Our chef works closely with suppliers and sources more than half of our fresh produce from growers within 50 miles of our facility. We are also retraining our cooks in modern methods of scratch cooking that showcase the best in what local producers have to offer.

Menu plans have cut sodium, salt, and preservatives and have added fresh herbs, spices, and creative plating that seeks to tantalize the eye as well as the palate. This has been a series of sure-footed small steps to be sure we are getting it right, and it will continue to be a work in progress. We are proud of the progress we have made in our kitchen and look forward to the exciting changes to come.

We are also revamping our approach to dining. In our social dining pilot program, residents are able to eat in an inviting and comfortable dining environment, with music, special appetizers, and desserts included. We have plans to grow this program to include more and more benefits for our residents.

We believe that food must be delicious, appealing to the eye, nourishing, and served in such a way as to promote joy, well-being, and camaraderie among residents. This is part of our promise to care for a lifetime.

In addition to social dining, we are committed to creating fun, themed events where delicious food is the main course, including barbecues, holiday meals that welcome friends and families, and monthly candlelight dinners with a fine-dining focus.

Patient Experience

This review is long overdue. My mom was there for more than a week for rehab. She received excellent care from the nursing and CNA staff on the 5th floor. The rehab staff were excellent in getting my mom back to her baseline. The facility is clean and the food was great! My mom enjoyed the activities there! My mom was sad to go; she really enjoyed her stay. The staff are caring and met my mom’s needs. [City View] was better than other rehab centers my mom was previously at. I wish I took my mom to [City View] first but [City View] exceeded my expectations! Keep up the good work!!!
